Its sad to know that Canadians are so tied to the United States, and the USA is crashing hard right now, that what the orange tyrant is doing south of the border is hitting us here in Canada on all fronts. But let’s zoom that focus onto kids. How it is affecting kids, and how to talk to them about it? If your kids are anything like mine, they are tired of hearing “you’re living through an historical moment”! The response from them are eye rolls, usually accompanied by “Why, what the h3ll is happening now?” I also homeschool, so we go into depth about the happenings in the world, in the USA and of course Canada. It’s hard to understand whats happening as adults, but kiddos may struggle understanding it, even more. Through discussions at home I have heard “well he can’t do that, its against the law (constitution)”, then trying to explain that despite being illegal he is still doing those things, and trying to answer why he hasn’t been arrested. It’s tough and this momma is tired! Instead we kinda made it fun, by watching Hunger Games Series, Twilight Series, and Harry Potter Series (screw JK Rowling) and analyzing their rebellion, how the rebellion rose up and even as to compare the “evil government” to what’s happening in the USA. The sheer amount of protests coming from the states, is hard to keep track..BUT I will say the protests from the Veterans, give me hope. Hope for my American friends affected by the current administation, hope for the immigrants, hope for fellow members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, and hope for humanity as a whole. The Veterans were MAD AS HELL! SMALL BUSINESSES ARE SUFFERING! I know money is tight, I know people are losing their jobs, these tariffs are brutal…but in that process small businesses are dying off. I have seen so many friends whose businesses cant keep going, especially with the tariffs. Please if you are able, buy from a small business. Our very own conservative leader Pierre Poilievre (PP), or as we like to call him “Temu trump” wins at being this weeks biggest asshole. Not only do I get irritated at the sight of his face, he opens up his mouth and its like nails on a chalkboard. He’s reguritated the orange tyrants speeches, complaining about everything from genders, to climate change regulations against big companies, to the liberal tax break (that ended last month) as a gimmick (well supporting Douggie Ford’s $250 check to every person in Ontario). Well, yes it was a gimmick, but so was Douggie Ford’s handing out of money. Money that could go into our crippling health care system, or schools! As this articles states PP plans to “dismantle the gobal system of justice and accountability”!

The orange tyrant activated the Alien Enemies Act of 1798. An act that has only been activated 3 times since then; the war of 1812, WWI, and WWII. Once enacted he turned Venezuelan immigrants over to El Salvador’s Cecot prison, a prison known for some of the world’s worst conditions. Let us be clear, yes some were part of the terrorist group Tren de Aragua (TdA) BUT NOT ALL. There are Venezuelan individuals who have green cards, and that were deported to this “camp” whom are NOT criminals. All those sent to Cecot are removed of any bodily liberties, heads shaven, shackled, made to walk bent over at the waste to dehumanized them. Make no mistake, this IS A CONCENTRATION CAMP!

Ignorance is still abundant in the USA govenment, but since first lady musk is trying to pay into PP’s pocket to interfere in our federal election, lets pick on fElon Musk. After, illegally getting into the American people’s social security database to “hunt for dead people” he believes are still getting paid at 150-250 years old, he declared a bunch of people dead. Imagine poor Ned Johnsons surprise to wake up to find fElon has declared him dead, when he is very much alive. Please note, that this notion that so many people are getting social security are dead, is bogus. Funeral director send the paperwork to the government so that the payments are stopped.
