Kas~ Kids, Activism & Support

Kids~Are your kiddos interested in the elections, but are under 18 so they feel like there is not much they can do about it? My youngest kiddo is very much into politics, but too young to vote, so he feels helpless in this very important election. However, we did some research, and found out at age 14 you can join a political party as a member, and vote on who becomes that political party’s leader. Other ways kids can help are volunteer for a local party by helping them with putting up signs, other tasks in the office, or learning more about issues that concern them. Politics can be a tricky subject for adults, so of course it can be quite confusing for kiddos! Click here for ways to help kiddos understand.

Activism~5.2 million! 5.2 million Americans took to the streets, in the “Hands Off” group of protests, to resist the current American administration. We watched various of lives, as there was clearly better coverage via TikTok, than in the media. Media coverage was surprisingly low, so even if you don’t have TikTok, check out YouTube as well! Plus they had some amazing signs!

Small Business~ Ooof I can’t be the only small business, struggling with these tariffs! So many businesses didn’t make it through the Covid years, and those that did are struggling with the effects of the tariffs now. Ensuring my business is buying Canadian, is always important, but sometimes we have had to source out items from America. Even only using American items sparingly, with the tariff costs coming into effect, it will drive the costs of items higher. No one needs higher priced items! Sadly we have seen a few businesses shut down already, with more projected to shut down in the coming weeks/months if these tariffs progress!

Ali~Assholes, Legal Shit, & Ignorant People

Assholes~Our very own Temu Trump made a (Freudian) slip up on social media, whoops! It was taken down right away, but not before people got it and spread it like crazy! He is all in for us becoming the 51st state.

Legal Shit~Cancel your travel plans to the USA, Canadians! Canadians can face detention if denied entry to the USA. If you have ever crossed the border into the states from Canada, it can be scary, like you know you don’t have a gun in your trunk but you start to wonder “shit what if I do” … no, just me?!? Normally, if you looked sus (as my kid would say), they would just deny you entry and have you turn around. Now due to, well the orange tyrant, they can actually be sent to the concentration, I mean detention centres.

Ignorant People~ Seriously, our Temu Trump, needs to have a handler or a conscious or something. PP actually defended a candidate, who quite openly denies residential schools. Not shocking coming from the guy who has a man crush on John A MacDonald. Let’s not forget, John A MacDonald was Canada’s first prime minister, but more disgustingly, played a key roll in implementing the residential school system (among many other heinous acts towards the indigenous people.
